F.A.Q.'s

WHEN ARE CLASS PAYMENTS DUE?

  • During our Fall-Spring Session, tuition is due monthly. Tuition payments are automatically withdrawn on the 7th of each month using the billing information you provide. You may make a payment by cash or check by the 5th of each month, otherwise payment will automatically be processed on the 7th of each month. For our summer session, full payment for the session is due at time of registration upfront.

DO I PAY THE SAME AMOUNT EACH MONTH...EVEN WHEN THERE ARE ONLY 2 OR 3 LESSONS DUE TO MONTHS WITH HOLIDAYS?

  • Yes, your monthly tuition amount will stay the same month to month, with the exception of May which is 2 lessons cheaper.  This is because there are a total of 34 lessons over the year instead of 36.  Your monthly tuition is averaged out over an 8.5 month period. Some months you may have 2 or 3 lessons, and some months you may have 5 lessons. You will pay the same amount each month except May which is half off.

HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE THERE AT THE STUDIO EACH YEAR?

  • We have two main sessions. Our summer session runs for a period of 4 weeks and classes meet 1-2 times a week. This is a great time for new students to try out a class. Our main session runs for 8.5 months and starts in September and ends with our Recital on the first weekend in June.

WHEN IS THE RECITAL?

  • Recital is usually held the first weekend in June. The Recital is held at the Ritz Theatre in Tiffin. All students who take classes during our main session will have the opportunity to perform in the Recital.  This year's recital dates are May 31-June 2, 2024.

WHAT DO STUDENTS WEAR TO DANCE CLASS?

HOW DO DANCERS WEAR THEIR HAIR FOR CLASS?

  • Pre-Ballet and Ballet students need to wear their hair in a secure bun with long bangs secured back.

  • All other classes need to have hair pulled up and away from face with long bangs secured back.

IS THERE A FAMILY DISCOUNT AT IN MOTION?

  • Yes, In Motion offers a discount to those families who have more than one child enrolled concurrently. The first child is regular price, the 2nd child is 10% off, and the third child is 20 % off.

IS THERE A DISCOUNT FOR STUDENTS WHO TAKE MULTIPLE CLASSES?

  • Yes, In Motion offers a discount system for students who take at least 3 classes at the studio. If you take 3 classes, you receive 10 % off all three classes. If you take 4 classes you receive 15% off. If you take 5 classes or more, you receive 20% off.  Note family discount and the multiple class discount cannot be combined.

IS THERE A DISCOUNT FOR PAYING UPFRONT FOR YEAR IN FULL?

  • Yes! In Motion offers a discount of 5% off your entire year’s tuition if you pay in full by September 5.

DO PARENTS HAVE TO STAY DURING THEIR CHILD'S CLASS?

  • No, parents may leave to run errands, or stay and wait. We do ask that parents of 3-4 year old in our Tiny Toes 1 class stay for the 1st month or until the child feels comfortable with the instructor and the class. We also ask that all young dancers, ages 12-under be escorted by an adult in and out of the building for safety reasons.  Children under the age of 12 should not be left un-supervised at any time in the waiting areas.

WHERE DO I PURCHASE DANCE SHOES AND DANCE WEAR?

  • In our studio office, we do sell dance shoes, tights, leotards, dance shorts, and other miscellaneous items. Dancers can be fitted for shoes or purchase dance wear Monday-Thursday between the hours of 4:00-8 PM (during our main session).

HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE IN A CLASS?

  • For younger aged classes we set a maximum of 14-18 students per class. For older ages we set a maximum of 18 per class. Class minimum is 8 students.

HOW ARE STUDENTS PLACED IN CLASSES?

  • Students are placed in classes by level and ability. We do have minimum ages for most of our entry level classes but students can only move up if the instructor feels they are ready.

DO STUDENTS MOVE UP TO A HIGHER LEVEL EACH YEAR?

  • Students in entry level classes will typically be able to move up after a full year in that level. Students in all other levels can only move up if the instructor feels they have progressed and our ready. Following Recital, instructors fill out an evaluation card for students in their class/s which states whether they feel the student is ready for the next level. In many of our Intermediate-Advanced level classes, it is typical for students to be within these levels for a longer period of time.

WHAT CLASS DO YOU RECOMMEND STUDENTS TAKE?

  • Although Ballet isn't for everyone, we definitely recommend it as it is the basis of all dance. It will give dancers a strong basic technique that will benefit them in other dance classes.
